One of my favorite blogs is Danielle LaPorte’s. I especially love her “Burning Question” series, although, I love almost everything she posts (and I LOVED her book, “The Firestarter Sessions“)!
After her last “Burning Question” post that was about inflammation, I thought to myself, “I have to start posting my answers to these!”.
Not only do I love asking and answering questions, I thought that the topic of inflammation would be perfect for me to write about since I feel pretty strongly about avoiding inflammation in the body by eating well, and in life by keeping our minds, homes, and hearts clutter free and as open to receive as possible.
I do realize that this is easier said than done.
So I’ll get on to my answer. Here is Danielle’s burning question that I’m answering today:
What’s chronic, repetitive, or inflamed in your inner or outer life?
Danielle writes: “Muscles get inflamed and choked from repetitive overuse. And it takes just one overtaxed muscle to stifle an entire limb, which then throws off the alignment of our whole body. When we stop using the muscle in the same way, blood flow can return and pain makes way for vitality.
In the same way, an old psychic wound or one small behaviour continually repeated could strain your whole life.”
an old psychic wound or one small behavior continually repeated could strain your whole life. Ugh. So true. The truth hurts sometimes, doesn’t it?
Danielle also writes that this is personal and you may want to share your answer with just your guardian angel. (LOL!) Well, I’m going to share my shit with you today.
My inflammation is the inflammation of stress and self defeat. I am easily overwhelmed and I give up easily. I have BIG dreams. Huge dreams. Deep desires. I would even be so bold as to say that I know exactly what I want.
The problem I have is that I want a lot of things, and often they are mutually exclusive. And I’m a bit indecisive.
What I’m learning is that in a way, my mutually exclusive desires are things that I’ve been taught cannot be had at the same time. But I can reinvent these things so that they work for me.
A very honest personal example of mutually exclusive desires of mine: having a family and having absolute freedom.
These are two things that our culture generally views as being mutually exclusive. But I’m learning to redefine freedom for myself as I’m learning that my idea of freedom is very different from what most people view as freedom.
So today I’m going to promise myself that I’m NOT going to give up on something that I want just because it seems difficult or even impossible. I’m a smart, strong person, and I can figure this shit out and create the life that I want. I’m willing to do what it takes. I am ABLE to do what it takes.
The veggie loving, green juice chugging, clinical nutritionist part of me has to mention that the less inflammation you experience in your physical body, the less inflammation you’ll experience with old psychic wounds and repeated unhealthy behaviors.
How do you clear inflammation in the body? Eating and drinking your veggies. While some vegetables are praised for being anti-inflammatory (thing cabbage and kale), all raw vegetables are anti-inflammatory to some degree, so create your fresh raw vegetable juices and salads out of the plants you love the most.
So, now I’m going to ask you to post below in comment section, what’s chronic, repetitive, or inflamed in YOUR inner or outer life? No pressure if you’re not ready to share. But why not be open and take the first step in moving away from the crap that’s holding you back?
